I am Kat St. John - Makeup Artist, Pro Dog Mom, Semi-Pro Urban Farmer and super rad friend.
10 years ago, I decided to dabble in makeup, I had just been hired at my first ever desk job and needed to "elevate" my look. Weekends that I had off, I attended classes and eventually collected enough makeup that I thought, "How cool would it be if I did this for a living?" After working a full time job and freelancing for 8 years, I finally left my desk and headed for freedom!
With my background in art and design, makeup became a lot like painting. It all just made sense!
Currently I am located in Shoreline, have a huge garden that I use to "disconnect" from my full-time-always-hustling-freelance-life, mentoring new artists. If I am not in the garden, I am trying to give back to my community any way I can.
Hopefully you had a moment to look over my work! As you may have noticed, there is a common theme with my clients.
"Less is more."
I approach each client with the intent to enhance your natural beauty not cover it up. Makeup is meant to emphasize the certain facial features and the characteristics we like about ourselves as well as hide the features we might dislike.
During an initial consultation or trial run with a client, I focus on some key points in order to determine a look that best suits not only your facial features, but your personality. This is done through a series of questions and dialogue about your daily routine, what you might like, not like, your style and what sensitivities you may have, if any. Your comfort is above all, my #1 priority.
"Beauty isn't about looking perfect. It's about celebrating your individuality."
